The Tell Family moved to Windswept Farm in 1984 to reclaim some childhood memories from Europe. Wilhelm and Alyce Tell bought their daughters, Laura and Linnet, 2 ponies. Little did they know, from there, the 17 acre farm would metamorphazise into a training center for dressage horses and riders.
Renewable energy through solar energy and a water retention system allow us to respect the environment and maintain a working farm. The farm is located just a mile and a half from the Sussex County Fairgrounds.
Multiple buildings comprise the facility. 20 stalls housed within 3 barns enable a quaint, small feel in this large facility. All stalls are equipped with full mats, water lines, windows, yoked gates and individual fans in the summer.
Hot and cold wash stall, heated tack room and viewing lounge, complete with tv, dvd, vhs, complimentary fridge, microwave and kettle. Each stall includes a 10 foot space for tack trunks and storage. A separate barn holds our years hay supply, ensuring better air quality and safety from fire for the horse.

Newly expanded outdoor arena with new footing as of 2014, easily accommodates a full dressage court and a separate warm up area.
Open design allows the rider to use the terrain for fitness work or unique jump schools.
The farm fronts a 147 acre stateland property which connects us to the Paulinskill Trail System. The Paulinskill Trail System is thousands of miles of old railways that have been bought by the state and transformed for recreational use.
Windswept Farm appreciates that the grazing animals health depends on movement, therefore turnout is a high priority at the farm. Customized turnout options will be considered if necessary. Frost free waterlines run to every pasture.
